Several pirated TV satellite dishes were found feeding digital signals to a number of buildings.

The raid was conducted in collaboration with Arab Digital Distribution (ADD), a major pay TV platform, as part of an understanding to fight piracy together. The campaign will intensify as more buildings and shops with pirated dishes have been identified across the country. The real estate company managing the building in Al Qusais feigned ignorance about the installation of pirated dishes, either in the building’s central system or on the terraces/balconies/rooftops by individual tenants.

Commenting on the Dubai government’s resolve to push ahead with the campaign, Gen. Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation, said: “TV content piracy  has become a considerable threat to our society and economy. We are determined to continue our campaign against illegal vendors.”
