Here are some suggestions which you may follow while you scan an images to send by electronic mail. If you are scanning a news paper cutting, printed material or any piece of paper containing text and line art drawing only use Line art from media type. You will get a 1 bit eps, tiff or bmp file and the file size will be very small. You can produce an Acrobat pdf file from the same. Incase you want to place the image directly in mail, eps and tiff formats are not readable by those who are not using professional programs. Now you can convert the file to bmp or gif format. These formats are commonly used.
An image with B&W photograph should scan in Grayscale format. It is also comparatively less in size with RGB or CMYK. If colored image prefer RGB format. Save these files in jpg maximum (0 quality) compression or gif file. If possible dont attach CMYK file. It is always largest in size.
Most of our friends are using dial up network or shared network. It will be helpful, time and money saving if the files are small in size. |
